News > The second mission "Health, Education and Environment is complete!
ONG SIM has been in Inhassoro and northern Bazaruto Island, Inhambane Province, in Moçambique. In this mission we were accompanied by medical doctor Isabel Cunha, who did an extraordinary job with the communities and carried out a careful evaluation of all who sought her help.
This year has been especially difficult for these communities that experience a situation of severe hunger, with the country plagued by a severe drought. In addition to the even greater food shortages that arise from this, everything was compounded by the temporary ban (3 months) of fishing activity, the main form of livelihood in Bazaruto Island, one of the geographical areas where the SIM NGO operates.
It was a very tough mission, we encountered a very difficult situations. But it was also a very rewarding mission because of the human contact, the warmth with which we were received by those who know that we are there to take a little comfort and ease, even if only within our possibilities.
To all that help and follow the NGO SIM, our thank you to you all!
